BROADWAY UNDER THE STARS

There’s always magic in the air on Broadway. You’ll also feel it at The Shops at Columbus Circle this holiday season during the second annual Broadway Under The Stars, a free concert series held every Monday from November 13 to December 11. Current cast members of popular musicals will be on hand for special performances at our own glittering version of the Great White Way on the second floor mezzanine. Hum a tune and linger afterward for drinks or dinner — and of course, a little holiday shopping inspired by Broadway’s top musicals. Here’s a peek at what’s in store.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (November 13)

Lucky Charlie finds the last golden ticket to visit the wondrous world of Willy Wonka’s sugar-coated fantasyland in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Fellow chocoholics will go wild for the limited-edition gold-lined Initiation gift box ($65) at La Maison du Chocolat. Spoiler alert: Had she survived, Veruca Salt would have definitely snatched up the nut-filled confections.

Miss Saigon (November 20)

A tale of star-crossed lovers who meet at the Dreamland bar on the eve of the Vietnam War, Miss Saigon will have you dreaming of sipping exotic drinks while you watch their story unfold. You can easily craft them with Skinny Cocktail’s tropical-fruit flavored Piña Colada Mix from Williams-Sonoma ($12.99). Just add your favorite spirit.

Wicked (November 27)

Born green, Elphaba Thropp leads a colorful life in Wicked on her way to becoming the Wicked Witch of the West. While you might not want to emulate her head-to-toe hue, a boldly glam green lip for a night out will have heads turning with envy. Check out Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick in the Junkie shade at Sephora ($17).

Chicago (December 4)

While at the Cook County Jail in Chicago, incarcerated dancers Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly join forces to form a new Vaudeville team. By the time you get to the “All That Jazz” grand finale, you will be ready to kick up your heels and join the chorus line in a snazzy pair of textured tights from Wolford ($61-67)

Once on This Island (December 11)

In Once on This Island, Mother of the Earth Goddess Asaka tells heroine Ti Moune: “Do not fear, the earth will give you everything you need.” This could not be truer than at Satya, which stocks beautiful necklaces made from precious natural stones. Asaka would love the water-colored Angelite and Blue Topaz Mala ($249), which represents new beginnings, truth, and wisdom.
