THE GIVING SEASON: HOSTESS GIFTS ANYONE WILL LOVE

Tis the season — for parties, parties, and more parties. But remember what your mother told you: Don’t show up empty handed. Stop by The Shops at Columbus Circle en route to your next festive celebration and pick up the perfect hostess gift. Or stock up and be ready for any invitation that comes your way. Here are some ideas that will definitely get you invited back.

Williams-Sonoma is a slam dunk for the hostess with the mostess. We’re swooning over the brand’s first artist collaboration with illustrator Rory Dobner, who created a range of hand-drawn pieces. Pick up a stylish platter ($18.95), mug ($12.95), or spatula ($13.95), all monogrammed with your recipient’s initial for a very personal touch.

Sure there are books galore, with titles that will appeal to any personality, but Amazon Books also stocks a range of cool finds for the home. Help your high-tech host set the mood with a color-changing LED lightbulb from Lifx ($59.99 or $56.38 for Prime members). It’s WiFi smart and sure to be the gift that keeps on giving.

With its curated selection of gifts, you’re sure to find a thoughtful present at Papyrus. Check out the display of hand-carved wooden music boxes ($34.95-$55.95), which come in every imaginable theme, from a charming forest feast to a mini Eiffel Tower to a Hawaiian luau, complete with dancers. In fact, we think we’ll buy two. One for you, one for me!

Not sure what your host would like? Trust us: You can’t go wrong with one of the scented candles from Diptyque, which smell as beautiful as they look. Take it to the next level with a whimsical Carousel ($60), which sits atop the candle and rotates thanks to the heat released by the flame (candle sold separately).

Head to Sephora, where you’re sure to find something for the hostess who has everything. What caught our eye? This Drybar Glitter Gang set ($215), complete with a sparkly hairdryer, three different types of sprays, and a round brush. It’s a hair dryer that’s practically a piece of art — and she’ll remember you every time she’s getting ready to go out.

What hostess wouldn’t love this Emeraude Hatbox ($210) filled with more than three pounds of luxurious truffles and other chocolate indulgences from La Maison du Chocolat? Plus, she can use the lovely box afterward — it looks as beautiful as it is functional and can store accessories and more. Larger hatbox assortments are also available.
