| Masa transports diners from the busy shopping center into a 26-seat zen-like sushi temple. Chef Masayoshi Takayama showcases exotic and seasonal ingredients throughout his dishes, including fish imported from Japan. While there is no official menu, Chef Masa keeps a record of what he has served to his customers and what their reactions were. Masayoshi Takayama has been named as one of New York’s Top 50 Chefs by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Masayoshi Takayama: Chef
When he was just a boy, Masa Takayama grew up learning the art of cuisine. After high school, Takayama moved to Tokyo, where he began his work as a dishwasher at Ginza Sushi-Ko; later he gained his status as a sushi chef. In the early 1980s he moved to Los Angeles and eventually opened his own sushi restaurant, Ginza Sushi-Ko. Later, selling his restaurant, he moved to New York City to open Masa and Bar Masa.
