Celebrate Pride Month
It’s Pride Month, and The Shops at Columbus Circle is showing its colors in honor of this special celebration of LGBTQ rights and equality, held every June. Look for a rainbow of looks, flavors and other ways to support this very worthy cause.
It's love — and cake — for all at Bouchon Bakery. The seven-layered rainbow cake is an Instagram-perfect slice of happiness that's served every June in honor of Pride. Taking inspiration from Italian three-layer cakes, Bouchon's version is infused with almond paste, filled with raspberry and apricot jam, and sprinkled with edible rainbow sparkles. Have a slice ($6.95) or take the whole cake ($54-$450). It's guaranteed to be the hit of the party.
H&M is out loud and proud with its first-ever Pride collection. Look for 70’s-inspired designs — from crop tops and cut-off jeans to fanny packs — plus plenty of rainbow motifs and inspiring messages like “Equality,” “Pride,” and "United." And talk about a feel-good factor: H&M is donating 10% of proceeds to the United Nations Free & Equal campaign, which fights for LGBTQ rights internationally.
Love is love at Williams-Sonoma, where you’ll find mugs ($12.95), plates ($7.99 – $31.99), candles ($14.99), and more, all emblazoned with colorful hearts. A portion of the profits from the Love is Love collection benefits the Human Rights Campaign, America's largest civil rights organization working to end discrimination against LGBTQ people.
J.Crew and Madewell are riding the colorful Pride wave, too, and donating 50% of the purchase price of a limited-edition collection of T-shirts and accessories to the Human Rights Campaign. We are especially in love with the LGBTQ Pride Flag socks ($14.50) from J.Crew Mens Shop, which are designed to celebrate love and respect and will add a splash of color to any outfit and put a smile on your face.
M.A.C. Cosmetics is celebrating with complimentary Pride-inspired makeovers that include plenty of sparkle and color. Plus, you'll get a free button and sticker (while supplies last) to show your Pride around town. MAC is also a Platinum Sponsor of the NYC Pride March, so watch for their float in the parade on June 24 as they proudly proclaim their credo of "All Ages, All Races, All Genders." Now, that's beautiful.
