This event will prove an exciting melding of interests for wine aficionados and foodies alike. On February 17, 2012, Porter House New York will celebrate the best of Italian wines for 2012 as proclaimed by the esteemed Gambero Rosso publication.
The four-course dinner, specially-created by Porter House chef, Michael Lomonaco, will feature Italian-inspired items that pair perfectly with the three top recipients of the prestigious Tre Bicchieri (the “Three Glasses”) 2012, Gambero Rosso‘s highest award of honor.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6:00pm, followed by the meal and pairings at 7:00pm. Additionally, the winemakers will be on hand to describe their wines and the processes by which these award-winners are created. Attendees include:
• Nino Franco – The leading and most prestigious Prosecco producer in the Veneto, with a distinct style of fresh and fruit-driven wines. Primo Franco heads the Family winery, and is the third-generation winemaker and director.
• Cusumano – The Cusumano family has created a modern winery with respect paid to Sicily’s colorful past. Diego Cusumano is the Winery Ambassador.
• Barone Ricasoli – The oldest winery in Italy, Ricasoli is now recognized as a leading producer of Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan and Vin Santo wines. Stefan Capurso is the Commercial Director of Barone Ricasoli, and works closely with the wine maker.
